4. From Broadway To Obscurity

 From Broadway to Obscurity is a high energy, incredibly funny cabaret about making hard choices for the right reasons. At the peak of his career playing several roles in Jersey Boys on Broadway, Eric Gutman made the decision to return to his home town of Detroit so that he could raise his two young daughters closer to his family. He uses well-known musical theatre and pop songs, dead-on celebrity impressions, heart-warming narrative, and a look at what goes on backstage of one of the biggest hits in Broadway history to tell the story of his transition from Broadway star to suburban dad. Details

5. Diana Doherty and Dennis Kim

Australian Diana Doherty, known for her “brilliant playing,” (The Australian) is currently Principal Oboe with Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Canadian Dennis Kim was recently appointed Concertmaster of Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Along with GGS faculty and students, they will perform Bach’s Concerto for Violin and Oboe, Mozart’s Oboe Quartet, Dorati’s Duo Concertante, and “Winter” from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.  Details

2. Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival

Established in 2001, Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival celebrates and promotes contemporary Canadian cinema and raises awareness of Canadian achievements in film. From January 13 to 26, we’ll screen our selection of the top 10 Canadian features, shorts and student shorts of 2016 — accompanied by introductions and Q&A sessions with directors, as well as special events and industry panels.  Details
