This feature is designed to provide a novel way for consumers to earn Bonus Miles by allowing Air Miles collectors to purchase eligible products from select grocers and earn rewards by scanning their purchase receipts using AI technology within the Air Miles app.

To use this feature, collectors download and log into the Air Miles App, browse available offers, buy eligible products from participating grocery chains, and then scan their receipts within 14 days of purchase to earn Bonus Miles.

The Air Miles website states, “Receipts from most major national and regional grocers qualify, as determined by AIR MILES in its sole discretion.”

Per the news release, the national launch of Air Miles Receipts was influenced by feedback from a successful initial launch in Atlantic Canada in June 2023. The national rollout aims to make the process accessible and user-friendly.

In addition to the receipt scanning feature, Air Miles is expanding its offerings through new Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) collaborations. The program also plans to continuously improve its AI technology based on ongoing user feedback.

Air Miles boasts over 10 million active accounts, covering more than half of Canadian households. Collectors can earn Reward Miles at over 300 Canadian and international brands, as well as at numerous retail and service locations nationwide. The program allows collectors to use Reward Miles for various purposes, such as merchandise, travel, events, or everyday essentials, either instantly in-store or online through Air Miles Cash at partner locations.
