You do not have to head to Calawy Park to taste one of Canada’s iconic sweet treats as Calgary’s 17th Ave has welcomed a new addition with the opening of BeaverTails, the renowned Canadian pastry shop.

Established in 1978, BeaverTails has gained fame for its artisanal pastries, which are known for their unique combination of crispy and chewy textures.
Located at 738A 17 Ave SW, this new outlet offers the same signature treats that have delighted customers for decades. The pastries, inspired by a traditional family recipe from Pam and Grant Hooker, first debuted at the Killaloe Fair near Ottawa. Since then, BeaverTails has become synonymous with quality and indulgence.
BeaverTails pastries are made from whole-wheat dough, hand-stretched, and served hot. The menu includes a variety of both sweet and savoury options. Popular sweet choices feature the Classic Cinnamon & Sugar, the Killaloe Sunrise with a lemon twist, and the decadent Hazel Amour with chocolate hazelnut spread. Other favourites include the Avalanche, topped with cheesecake spread and Skor bits, and the Triple Trip, combining chocolate hazelnut, peanut butter, and Reese’s Pieces.
For those seeking a savoury bite, BeaverTails offers poutine with Quebec cheese curds and gravy, crispy golden fries, and the BeaverDog, a hot dog wrapped in their signature pastry. Unique items like the Poutail, a blend of poutine on a BeaverTail pastry, add to the diverse menu.
Beverage options include classic and strawberry lemonade, smoothies made with organic juice, and rich hot chocolate. For dessert lovers, there are also ice cream cups and cones.
