GlobalFest will return in 2026 with a new home and a slightly different shape, moving from Elliston Park to Spruce Meadows for a four-night run from August 27 to 30.
The Calgary festival, known for pairing cultural programming with international fireworks, says the move is meant to give the event a more sustainable future after years of rising operational demands. Organizers say partnerships with Spruce Meadows and Calgary-based Showpass helped make the return possible.
Ken Goosen, GlobalFest’s chief operating officer, called the move from Elliston Park “bittersweet,” noting the park’s long connection to the communities that built the festival. The organization’s charitable and community work will continue under a new name, Global Mosaic Alberta Society.
The 2026 program will focus on a different culture each night. Japan opens the festival on August 27, followed by Mexico on August 28, Italy on August 29, and a closing GlobalFinale on August 30. Performances will include elements such as Japanese drumming and mariachi music before the evening fireworks.
GlobalFest is also planning the largest drone show ever presented in Alberta, along with an expanded OneWorld Festival presented by TD. Guests can expect more food, art, performances, traditions, and cultural experiences across a larger festival footprint.
Tickets are now on sale at GlobalFest. General admission starts at $35 with complimentary parking, children’s tickets start at $15, and VIP options begin at $79. Tickets bought before the venue change must be exchanged at no added cost.
