As part of Canada Day 2025 celebrations, Canadian Heritage has introduced the “O Canada! Station” initiative, inviting Canadians to submit short videos expressing national pride.
Selected entries may be featured during the Canada Day National Evening Show broadcast on CBC and Radio-Canada.
The campaign offers two participation options: videos can be uploaded through the O Canada! Station website or recorded at video booths in selected VIA Rail stations. Each eligible submission enters the “All Aboard to Celebrate Canada” contest, with two VIA Rail trips valued at up to $15,000 each available as prizes.
Participants must be Canadian residents aged 18 or older and not affiliated with ACTRA or UDA to be eligible for prizes. Employees of Canadian Heritage, VIA Rail, their partners, or immediate family members are not eligible to win but may still contribute videos.
Submissions must be original, no longer than 100 seconds, under 500 MB, and preferably in horizontal format. Acceptable content includes performances, storytelling, artistic expression, or simple greetings. All videos must comply with Government of Canada communication standards.
The contest runs from May 29 to July 2, 2025. Winners will be drawn on July 3 and contacted by email. If unresponsive within 48 hours, alternate winners will be selected.
Plus, prizes must be used before September 1, 2026, and are non-exchangeable for cash. Participants must consent to the use of their videos for public communications and agree to all contest rules and privacy terms.
