RCMP Musical Ride
In celebration of the RCMP’s 150 years of service to the country, the Musical Ride tour is travelling across Canada, with the Canadian Sunset Ceremonies marking the beginning of this milestone journey.
Canadian Sunset Ceremonies will be held at the RCMP Musical Ride Centre in Ottawa, from May 19 to May 23, 2023.
The Canadian Sunset Ceremonies showcase a full troop of 32 riders and their horses performing impressive routines. The event also includes a flag lowering ceremony at sunset and a participatory singing of the national anthem, creating a memorable experience for all attendees.
The performances will take place at 7 pm each night and are family-friendly. Special guests such as the RCMP Pipes, Drums and Dancers, Capital Cowgirls, and Governor General’s Foot Guards Band will also be featured in the shows. The world-famous Musical Ride will be the highlight and finale of each performance.
Admission to the Canadian Sunset Ceremonies is free, but it is recommended to arrive early to secure a good spot. Attendees are advised to dress appropriately for the weather as the event takes place in an outdoor riding arena. Bringing a blanket or lawn chair for added comfort is also recommended.
Food vendors will be present at the venue, providing refreshments and snacks for attendees. It is important to note that pets are not allowed on the grounds during events, but service animals are permitted.
