The Port of Montreal Tower is the final stage of the extensive project to revitalize Alexandra Pier that began in 2014. It has transformed the former Iberville Passenger Terminal into a user-friendly space integrated into the urban fabric of Montreal. It offers a stunning view of Old Montreal, complemented by green spaces, a vegetated terrace, and a grassy lawn at the water’s edge, providing access to the banks of the St. Lawrence River.
To celebrate its opening, admission to the tower will be free on the first weekend of operation, May 27 and 28, 2023. During regular business hours, interested individuals can head to the Port of Montreal Tower ticket office and gain admission, subject to the tower’s maximum capacity.

The Port of Montreal Tower invites both locals and tourists to embark on an immersive and engaging journey, discovering the beauty and history of Montreal from a unique vantage point.
According to the news release, this magnificent glass tower stands 65 meters tall and offers a breathtaking view of the city and the river.
Upon entering the lobby, visitors are welcomed by three robot navigation buoys, adding a touch of novelty to the ambiance. The lobby also features a large aluminum wall sculpture by Jordi Bonet, created in 1967 to commemorate the construction of the cruise terminal.
The tower’s interactive exhibition on the multifunctional level offers the most stunning view of Montreal and the river. Viewfinders allow visitors to explore various points of interest in the city, while augmented reality technology brings nine Montreal places and nine vignettes about the Port of Montreal to life. Additionally, musical balloons suspended from the ceiling create a symphony of sounds that visitors can conduct themselves.
On the 15th floor, the glass cage awaits the bravest visitors. This entirely glassed-in floor, situated 55 meters high, provides a thrilling experience for those seeking an adrenaline rush.
The Port of Montreal Tower aims to be accessible to the whole family, offering attractive ticket prices of $15 for adults and family packages available for $45.
The self-guided tour takes approximately one hour, and while the tower’s elevators are wheelchair accessible, the winding staircase leading to the glass cage is not.
Visitors can also enjoy the outdoor spaces surrounding the tower, including the green roof (Promenade D’Iberville), Commencement Square, and the fully accessible wooded terrace along the quay.
Additionally, the Port Centre and its exhibition on port activities, “All aboard!”, remain open to the public free of charge.
