Cineplex is kicking off the Season of Giving with the return of Community Day.
You can visit the local Cineplex theatre to celebrate Community Day by enjoying a FREE movie and helping raise money for BGC Canada (formerly Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada) on the morning of Saturday, November 4th.
Now in its 11th year, on Community Day, Cineplex theatres will show a morning of free family-friendly films, as well as discounted concession items at $2.50 from 9:00am to 10:59am only.
One dollar from every concession order of select items, including popcorn, soft drinks and candy purchased during the event, will be donated to the national nonprofit.
New this year, Cineplex is celebrating first-ever Community Day at The Rec Room and Playdium locations across Canada.
At Rec Rooms and Playdiums across Canada, patrons can enjoy a morning of free gaming and support youth empowerment programs through a $1 donation from game band and snack purchases. Per the website, each guest can receive a free 2-hour game band between 9:00 a.m. and 11:59 a.m. on November 4, with time starting upon activation. This game band is not eligible for resale and does not earn redemption points. While attractions are excluded, a food and beverage discount for select items is available during the same time frame. Game bands are limited, so arrive early to secure your spot for this fun-filled, charitable event.
2023 Cineplex Community Day Line-up
This year’s Community Day line-up of free, family-friendly favourites includes Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, Jumanji: The Next Level, and The Angry Birds Movie 2.
Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile
Based on Bernard Waber’s best-selling book series, Javier Bardem, Constance Wu, and Shawn Mendes star in Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, a live-action/CGI musical comedy. Josh struggles to adapt to his new school and friends when his family (Wu, Scoot McNairy, Winslow Fegley) moves to New York City. Lyle, a singing crocodile (Mendes) who loves baths, caviar, and great music, lives in his new home’s attic. When Lyle’s existence is threatened by Mr. Grumps (Brett Gelman), the Primms must band together with Lyle’s charismatic owner, Hector P. Valenti (Bardem), to show the world that family can come from unexpected places and there’s nothing wrong with a big singing crocodile with a big personality. Shawn Mendes, Javier Bardem, and Constance Wu will perform original songs written by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul. Mendes, Ari Afsar, Emily Gardner Xu Hall, Mark Sonnenblick, and Joriah Kwamé also wrote songs. Will Speck, Josh Gordon, and Will Davies directed and produced the film. Hutch Parker, Kevin K. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation
In Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, join our favorite monster family as they embark on a vacation on a luxury monster cruise ship so Drac can take a summer vacation from providing everyone else’s vacation at the hotel. It’s smooth sailing for Drac’s Pack as the monsters indulge in all of the shipboard fun the cruise has to offer, from monster volleyball to exotic excursions, and catching up on their moon tans. But the dream vacation turns into a nightmare when Mavis realizes Drac has fallen for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka, who hides a dangerous secret that could destroy all of monsterkind. What: Celebrate Cineplex Community Day on November 4th with a morning of free movies and $2.50 concessions! Plus, $1 from concession purchases throughout the entire day will go towards supporting youth empowerment programs through our partners at BGC Canada.
Films are being shown in English and French, depending on the market.
A maximum of 4 adult tickets and four child tickets can be reserved per Cineplex account holder. Tickets are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Concessions discount applicable to select items and is valid for sales on November 4, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:59 a.m. only, and is plus applicable taxes, deposits, levies and fees. Tickets can be reserved in advance, for free, online or in theatre starting October 25, 2023. Online booking fees are waived for Community Day featured titles.
Playdiums & Rec Rooms
Community Day guests are eligible for a maximum of one (1) free 2-hour non-redemption game band per person.
Two (2) hour game band is timed, and time begins when game band is activated by the guest once tapped on the first game.
Game band must be activated on November 4, 2023 between 9:00am to 11:59am.
Redemption points are not earned with this game band. Not valid for attractions.
Game bands are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Game band is not eligible for re-sale. Community Day food and beverage discount applicable for select items, and is valid for sales on November 4, 2023 from 9:00am to 11:59am only.
