Events Description

Visit Lougheed House this fall for A House of Story, a pop-up exhibit and speaker series exploring the deeper cultural and historical connections to housing. Together, the talks and exhibit share past and present realities of diverse domestic spaces, and multiple perspectives on the meaning of home.

A House of Story: Notes on the Neighbourhood
Exhibit on Sept 11 – Nov 16
From bachelor’s tents and bungalows to bistros and high rise buildings, the Beltline of today is a very different place from what it once was. The changes through time in this bustling historic neighbourhood are a reflection of how Beltline residents have also changed and their beliefs about housing, community, and societal values.
This pop-up exhibit expands on the history of the Beltline already on display at Lougheed House as part of the core exhibition, Foundation to Future. Dive deeper into the past of this community through photos, stories, and an interactive map!
