Events Description
The Priddis & Millarville Fair is one of the last great Country Fairs in Canada. Founded in 1907, the Fair today attracts more than 4000 bench entries contributed by over 500 exhibitors, contests, competitions and displays. Once you are through the gate, all activities and attractions are free. Browse the exhibits, participate in a pie auction, cheer for your favourite team in the pie eating contest, eat ice cream made by a horse, go for a hayride, ride the mechanical bull, pet some small animals, watch how wool is made and how to milk a goat, and more.
The Fair is all about fun – friendly competition, colourful ribbons, displays, live animals, hands on activities – all across a wide range of topics such as agricultural education, arts & handicrafts, beef cattle, blacksmithing, dairy goats, english horse, fibre arts, field crops, flowers, gymkhana, home cooking & baking, photography, poultry, sheep vegetables & fruit, western horse, woodworking.
- Shop at the famous Millarville Farmers’ Market on Saturday and/or the specialty artisans’ market on Sunday races (stick horse/critter/creature, 3-legged, sack) or tug-of-war
- View the exhibits, participate in a variety of Make & Take activities, learn all about farm animals, life on the ranch and the wildlife around us.
- Participate in competitions (sign up on the spot) – pie eating, watermelon eating, Bid on a quilt or pie
- Cheer on your favourite antique tractor at the tractor pull competition.
- What is blacksmithing all about? Why do roosters crow? Have you ever felt under the feathers of an owl or held an eagle on your arm? How do you teach a horse to do tricks? Find out at the Fair!
