Events Description

So many of our favourite holiday traditions began in the Victorian era – sending Christmas cards, decorating trees, and hanging stockings might be classic features of the season for us, but they were new to the Victorians! Take a tour through time in the spectacularly decorated Lougheed House this holiday season and learn about the origins of your favourite Christmas celebrations, examine holiday artifacts of the past, and explore the decorated house.

About Lougheed House:
Located in Calgary’s greater downtown amid acres of heritage gardens and green space, Lougheed House was built in 1891 and is now an accredited museum, significant Calgary landmark, and vibrant community gathering space. It features temporary and permanent exhibits, hosts events, tours, and learning opportunities for visitors of all ages, as well as a gift shop and private event space.
