Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience takes audiences on a journey through the soul-stirring history of the Delta Blues, merging the raw emotion of blues music with the expressive depth of an orchestra. With Morgan Freeman’s iconic baritone in cinematic narration featuring performances by respected Delta Blues musicians and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, this genre-bending, multimedia project brings to life the Delta Blues’ story, from its origins along the Mississippi to its profound influence on global music and culture.
Growing up in the Mississippi Delta, Freeman was immersed in the sounds of blues, fostering an early love for the artform. He continues to feed this passion to this day as co-owner of the Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi, a cornerstone of blues preservation and the birthplace of the Symphonic Blues Experience.
