Nickelodeon Music Club Presents.
Newfoundland’s Quote the Raven, consisting of Jordan Coaker and Kirsten Rodden-Clarke, have been performing for over a decade. The dynamic duo have a harmonious blend that’s incomparable; it’s like the blending of two voices into one, while their Americana-meets-East Coast songwriting and stage dynamic are irresistibly charming. The pair got their start in the small bars and pubs around St. John’s. In Newfoundland, Quote the Raven have been named the province’s Group of the Year three times. They’ve steadily grown in popularity nationally and internationally, and their songs have over one million streams across all streaming platforms. They’ve been nominated for two Canadian Folk Music Awards, and they won an East Coast Music Award (ECMA) in 2022 for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year. This year they were nominated for three ECMA’s including Album of the Year (for Map the Dark) and Video of the Year. Already Gone earned the ECMA for Roots Release of the Year. The Parsons
Clayton & Joelle Parsons are old souls with a sound that transcends time. Clayton played solo and with numerous bands in Cranbrook, B.C. Joelle began singing with church and school choirs, influenced by old gospel songs and traditional hymns as much as classic rock and alternative artists. Their lyrics are an authentic representation of their often wide-eyed wonder at the world, finding joy in the simple things and profundity in what many of us take for granted. They don’t rely on heavy instrumentation to underscore the sweetness of their honey-warmed harmonies; Joelle’s rhythm guitar compliments Claytons finger picking, providing the perfect thread for their exquisite voices to weave their way around each other, creating an uncomplicated but gorgeous tapestry of music. Live, their sweet and soulful music is punctuated with stories behind the songs, inside jokes that the whole audience becomes a part of, and true generosity of spirit.
