About Telus Spark, Calgary

Opened as Calgary Centennial Planetarium on July 1, 1967, Telus World of Science is a science museum with the aim of encouraging visitors of all ages to explore new ideas, build, experiment, create and play.

In 1987, the museum was expanded as Calgary Science Centre. The Calgary Science Centre was renamed Telus World of Science Calgary after a $9 Million donation from Telus Corporation to celebrate Alberta’s Centennial. Creative Kids Museum was opened at the Telus World of Science in 2006. It was earlier located near downtown Calgary on 11 ST SW.

On Oct 29, 2011, the centre reopened on the new location north of Calgary Zoo and is renamed as Telus Spark. Brainasium – a one acre all weather out door park was opened in August 2014.

We love Spark! Great place to take kids when the weather isnt super great to let them burn off a lot of steam and learn something in the process. The outdoor playground is a ton of fun for adults as well.

For locals – get the season’s pass with parking!
