Events Description
Rapid Fire Theatre is thrilled to present Wildfire, its annual teen improv festival, running February 3–15, 2026. Wildfire brings together junior high and high school improvisers from across Alberta for two weeks of high-energy performances, friendly competition, and unforgettable storytelling.
A cornerstone of youth theatre programming in the province, Wildfire celebrates creativity, collaboration, and confidence through improvisation. The festival is made up of three distinct events: Wildfire Junior, The Nosebowl High School Theatresports Tournament, and The Alberta Regionals of the Canadian Improv Games.
Wildfire Junior
The Wildfire Junior tournament is Rapid Fire Theatre’s junior high–level Theatresports competition. Junior high students from across Edmonton gather to tell stories, share jokes, and compete in a supportive, high-energy environment for the chance to win this year’s Wildfire Junior gold medal.
Designed to foster confidence, teamwork, and creative risk-taking, Wildfire Junior is often the first major improv tournament for young performers—and for many, the start of a lifelong love of theatre.
