Whitehorse is a destination on many a bucket list. The Klondike history inspires dreams of the Wild West, dusted in gold flakes, with a pinch of rugged wear and tear. Modern transportation has made Whitehorse far more accessible at only a short flight away from Edmonton. But you’ll agree, taking away the travel takes away a little of the allure. Slow your pace a little and appreciate just how far away the Klondike really is. This itinerary takes your from Edmonton and through farm country, into Grand Prairie and onto Dawson Creek.
There is something to be said of romance grown under the midnight sun. If it’s the endless summer days that make your heart dance along the horizon, or the long winter nights that make your soul curl under the blankets, I cannot say. But have no doubt, the north is Canada’s best kept secret for romantic getaways. For the new love blossoming or the old love still holding strong, the territories are where romance can breed.
