Cambridge Celebrates ‘Winterfest’ will feature many of the great seasonal events the community has come to know and love over the last 20 years.

Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night | Friday, November 24, 2023 | 7:00 PM

6:45 p.m. – Opening remarks at City Hall Civic Square
7 p.m. – Countdown to begin walk through downtown

Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night is an event held in more than 30 cities around the world. A modern twist on caroling, all ages can enjoy walking through downtown Cambridge with thousands of participants. Over 30 light installations will be illuminated along the route for attendees to enjoy and interact with at your leisure.

The music of Phil Kline will be played through speaker stations on the route. To add to the event, download the music for free to your phone and bring your portal speaker! Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night is an event held in more than 30 cities around the world.

CPKC Holiday Train | Thursday November 23, 2023

Schedule of events:

3 p.m. – Winterfest preshow
4 p.m. – CPKC Holiday Train arrives
4:15 to 4:45 p.m. – CPKC Holiday Train concert
4:55 p.m. – CPKC Holiday Train departs the train station for its next stop
Location: Malcolm Street Train Station, 10 Malcolm Street

Winterfest preshow – The City has partnered with the Cambridge Food Bank to host a preshow building anticipation of the train’s arrival. Staff and volunteers will be onsite collecting monetary and food donations. A BBQ, popcorn and festive items (i.e., hats) will be for sale with all proceeds going to the food bank. Beavertails will be there serving delicious treats! Live entertainment will be provided by Ammoye and special visits are expected from Santa, Mrs. Claus & Willy Melt.

Tthe CP Holiday Train – The CP Holiday Train annual Food Bank fundraising program is entering its 23rd year and raised more than $14.5 million and 4.3 million pounds of food since 1999. Two trains decorated in thousands of Christmas lights travels across Canada and the United States collecting money and food donations at each stop they make.

Parking – General parking is not available onsite. Free parking for the event is available near the event. Limited accessible parking will be available onsite and on Roseview Rd.

Winter Ice and Lights | December 1, 2023 to January 1, 2024 @ Central Park, 615 King Street E

Take a walk through the beautiful light displays in Central Park in Preston during the month of December. Make sure to capture that magical photo moment and share on social media using #CbridgeWinterfest.

Enjoy the City wide self-guided experience with friends, family or on your own time! Installations are bright and lit every night through the month of December for your leisure. Some installations can be viewed by driving past, while others are best enjoyed by being on foot and walking up to them. We welcome you to take photos and share your engagement with us!

Pop-up Event | Thursday, December 7, 2023 | 7:00 PM – Tim Holland Stunt Ventriloquist performs at 7:30p.m.

Experience the lights in Central Park while enjoying special visits from Santa, Mrs. Clause and Willy Melt.

Music and Lights in the Village | Friday December 1, 2023; 6:30 p.m. Tree Lighting Ceremony @ Hespeler Town Hall, 11 Tannery St E & Hespeler Idea Exchange, 5 Tannery St E

Gather in Hespeler Village to celebrate the festive holiday season. Holiday lights, tree lighting, food, musical entertainment, crafts and more!

This award winning Christmas Market has grown exponentially since its inception in 2012. The Cambridge Christmas Market is located in Ontario Canada and will be your one stop shopping destination for unique gifts, seasonal food and a great shopping atmosphere.

Parking – Downtown Cambridge has lots of free parking near the event. Check out the Public Parking in Galt City Centre map for parking options.

New Year’s Eve Party | Sunday, December 31, 2023 | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM @ Hespeler Arena, 640 Ellis Road

Come ring in the New Year with the City of Cambridge with an evening packed with free fun activities for all ages on and off the ice. Festivities will include ice skating, a Turbo Max inflatable obstacle course, live entertainment, games and more. The concession stand will be open with snacks for sale.

Ice skating – Upon arrival, each family will be offered 1 hour of skating at a time of their choice. Ice times are limited for the safety of everyone. Skating will be available on the Party Rockers rink with dimmed lighting and the Family rink will offer Disney music.
Skate aids are permitted on the Family rink only and are not available on site, please bring your own if necessary.
Helmets are recommended while skating. Free skate and helmet rentals will be available with identification. Quantities and sizes are limited and will be rented on a first come, first serve basis.

Due note skate sharpening is no longer available at the arena and strollers are not permitted on the ice rinks.
Entertainment – 3 performances by Team T&J in the Beehive Hall! Showtimes: 5p.m., 6p.m., 7p.m.
