Events Description
Upinnaq is Inuktitut for (to feel) peace, calm and awe, all of these together…
Join Susan Aglukark for a night of your favourite Christmas songs, stories and memories of Christmas in Nunavut. Enjoy songs like Silent Night, Little Toy Trains and Do You Hear What I Hear, sung in both Inuktitut and English.
Susan Aglukark is one of Canada’s most unique and most honoured artists, an Inuk from Arviat, Nunavut. She was a rare and exotic presence in the mainstream music world—an Inuk woman, a modern woman, a strong woman with something important to say, Susan embodies pure, graceful honesty and strength both in her personal and professional life. In addition to her four JUNO Awards and an Order of Canada, Susan’s most recent recognition was the Governor Generals lifetime artistic achievements award.
