Events Description
Lanterns are a major tradition of Asian festivals. Their warm glow lights up the last of winter, allowing us to look forward to a new year of bright things. Our Lunar Lanterns bridges this tradition with the local communities here in the Greater Toronto Area. Collaborating with Indigenous artists this year, the artworks each tell a unique story.
In the Year of the Dragon, LunarFest wishes that everyone can see beyond the traditions we were taught, and create new traditions that allow us to coexist in celebration. Through arts and culture, let’s explore the many ways we are Born to be Free!
