Events Description
Join us for Hoʻopili me ke Aloha 2026, a vibrant two-day celebration of the cultures, traditions, and spirit of aloha that connect Hawaiʻi, Polynesia, and the Pacific Northwest.
Presented by “The Spirit of the Pacific Cultural Society (SPCS),” a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich cultural heritage of Hawaii and the broader Polynesian nations, this family-friendly festival features live music and dance performances, cultural demonstrations, hands-on workshops, storytelling, a Native Hawaiian and Polynesian artisan market, authentic food, and special presentations by Indigenous guest speakers sharing their stories, experiences, and cultural perspectives.
The festival also honours the longstanding relationships between kānaka maoli (Native Hawaiians) and the Indigenous Peoples of the Pacific Northwest. Beginning in the late 1700s, Native Hawaiians travelled and worked throughout the region, including at Hudson’s Bay Company posts such as Fort Langley, where they contributed their skills and knowledge, helped build communities, and formed lasting relationships with First Nations that continue to be celebrated today.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can learn directly from staff, cultural practitioners, artisans, performers, and Indigenous guest speakers while exploring the values of connection, respect, community, and aloha.
