Events Description
Party for the Planet offers a unique opportunity for Surrey residents and visitors to come together in celebration of sustainability, environmental education, and community. Now in its 14th year, this free, family-friendly event will feature a plant sale, over 25 local vendors and artisans in the sustainable marketplace, Indigenous cultural sharing, environmental education, food trucks, and live music and dance battles across four stages.
This year’s event will feature a sustainable marketplace, environmental education, and Indigenous cultural sharing. Visitors can enjoy music on the Earth and Meadow Stages, dance battles and lessons on the Community Stage, and family-friendly programming on the Family Stage with Science World and the Urban Safari Rescue Society. On University Drive, guests can explore local exhibitors, vegan and vegetarian food trucks, and a free rock-climbing wall, sponsored by Dawson + Sawyer.
Back by popular demand, the Surrey Parks’ plant sale will offer 26 native species, including shrubs, trees, perennials and ferns, starting at $3. Free tomato plants will also be given to the first 750 attendees following the Mayor’s Ceremony inside the atrium at City Hall.
Residents can explore interactive booths to learn about the City’s environmental services and how to access them. The ReThink Waste booth will demonstrate how organics, garbage and recycling are collected and processed, along with street maintenance initiatives such as litter collection and large-item pickup. At the Climate-Friendly Home booth, visitors can learn about energy-efficient upgrades, test their knowledge through games, and win zero-waste prizes.
