Guided Activities:

Egg-cellent Nests – Friday & Saturday, March 18th – 19th

Spring is an important time of year for the birds living in the Fraser River’s Basin. As the weather improves and the days grow longer, birds everywhere are constructing their nests, looking for mates, and getting ready to lay eggs, creating a new generation of feathered friends!

Birds form an incredibly important part of the Fraser River’s ecosystem, and we’re going to learn how they protect their eggs in Springtime by creating our very own play-doh bird nests and decorating eggs with unique camouflage patterns, just like they have in real life!

Clay Fish Creations – Friday & Saturday, March 25th – 26th

Did you know that the Fraser River is the most productive salmon-supporting river in Canada? All seven species of Pacific Salmon native to BC call the mighty Fraser home, as well as many other species including rainbow and brook trout, eulachon, and longfin smelt!

These fish rely on the Fraser remaining healthy and sustainable for their species to survive, and in this activity, we will explore the characteristics of a healthy river system before making our very own fish out of clay! We supply all the tools and materials – all you need to bring is your creativity and imagination!
