Come learn how to play Hong Kong-style 麻雀 mahjong from 姚瑤 Chantal!
You asked! We heard! We’re back with a second iteration of Tiles & Togetherness!
Come hangout and learn to play mahjong with 姚瑶 Chantal! While there are many wonderful styles of playing mahjong, this will be a sit-down workshop covering the Hong Kong-style of the game.

一起來跟姚瑤學打麻雀吧！麻雀有許多不同的打法，而這將是一場香港麻雀工作坊。
Chantal will be teaching you the basics of how to play with a customized slide deck and print outs. It’s suggested you bring a notebook and pen if you’d like to jot down any notes. The instructional part of the workshop will be done between 1:00pm-2:00pm, with free-play between 2:00pm-4:00pm.
姚瑤將會用定製幻燈片和打印的圖釋來教您香港麻雀的基本打法。如果您想要記筆記，我們建議您帶筆記本和筆過來記筆記。1點至2點將會是工作坊的教學部分，2點至4點將會是自由打麻雀時間。
During free-play, we encourage you to buddy up on one side of the table or observe a game if you’d like to watch first! Chantal and several volunteers will be around to check in on the gameplay if you have questions. Don’t be shy, all levels welcome!

Stellar Moments, will be popping up at our event. They are a local handmade crystal and stone bracelets, and jadeite string necklaces business! They’re also very knowledgeable in stones and crystals and can give you tips on how to spot the correct stone/crystal for you! Please note that no gambling is allowed at this event, and we ask that folks keep beverages and food off the mahjong tables!
