Vessi 500 Championship Dragon Boat Races

Get set for one of BC’s biggest dragon boat races down at False Creek with 130 teams this year! The Vessi 500 Championship features Mixed and Women’s teams racing off in one of North America’s biggest dragon boat races! Come down and watch races on False Creek every 15 minutes, or enjoy live music and entertainment throughout the day in Milton Wong Square. The event also serves as a testing ground for teams prior to the continent’s flagship dragon boat festival.

In line with our overall work to celebrate local, enjoy performances and other family activiies at the Vessi 500 Championship between races! Visit Milton Wong Plaza North for family activities, live local music, and exciting cultural presentations like lion dances.

All programming is free, and runs from 11:00 AM-5:30 PM. Dragon Boat BC’s cultural programs are presented with the support of the BC Arts Council and Government of British Columbia.
