Be transported to the North with outdoor projections of contemporary Inuit artwork, imagery, and music celebrating Qaumajuq365, the Inuit art centre’s inaugural year!
This 20-minute show loops every half hour on the exterior of the two connected WAG-Qaumajuq buildings at Memorial Blvd and St. Mary Ave.
See work by Glenn Gear and Zacharias Kunuk, artists featured in Qaumajuq‘s inaugural exhibit, INUA. Plus, you’ll experience artist Geronimo Inutiq‘s new short film using National Film Board of Canada archival material to honour the ancestors and family members of artists and community members; and his dynamic soundscape accompanying the show that also includes dramatic footage by Destination Nunavut and Travel Manitoba.
While you’re here, check out two newly unveiled outdoor sculptures, Tuniigusiia/The Gift by Goota Ashoona and Time to Play by Abraham Anghik Ruben, and peek inside Qaumajuq’s glass entrance to thousands of Inuit carvings in the stunning Visible Vault!
