Italian Contemporary Film Festival will transform Distillery District into an outdoor cinema village during the Lavazza IncluCity Festival.
Distillery Village will feature an innovative cinema village with outdoor theatres with couch seating, a large digital screen and patios along Distillery’s Trinity Street.
Lavazza IncluCity Festival will showcase heartwarming films, captivating installations, visual art exhibits, panel discussions, gourmet tastings, and live performances – creating a unique cinematic experience.
The festival which runs from June 27 to July 16, 2022 (ICFF starts June 24th) will have glamorous special events, international premieres, and a multicultural art exhibit.
Some of the film highlights include:
- Canadian Premiere presentation of Marcel the Shell with the Shoes On directed by Dean Fleischer-Camp on Monday, June 27.
- World Premiere of The Railway Children Return, based on the 1970 film and book by E. Nesbit, director Morgan Matthews.
- Canadian Premiere of Across the River and Into the Trees, directed by Paula Ortiz and starring Liev Schreiber, Matilda De Angelis and Josh Hutcherson.
- Canadian Premiere of Remember Me: The Mahalia Jackson Story, directed by Denise Dowse, a film celebrating the outstanding gospel singer and civil rights activist Mahalia Jackson.
- Documentary Steadfast, the Messenger and Message, by Fahim Hamid Ali, a film that follows the life and career of the Honourable Dr. Jean Augustine, founder of Black History Month in Canada.
- On Canada Day 2022, the festival will showcase Drinkwater, the latest film by Stephen Campanelli starring former Will & Grace star Eric James McCormack. The event will celebrate Canada and Canadian cinema with the director and main cast in attendance.
- International Premiere of Koza Nostra directed by Giovanni Dota
- A special night dedicated to the Inuit community of Greenland with the screening of The Red House directed by Francesco Catarinolo.
Lavazza IncluCity Festival will also feature an art exhibit titled 6IX Art Outdoors along Gristmill Lane and showcase 13 one-of-a-kind statues, standing over 6 feet tall to be painted by some of Canada’s most talented multicultural artists. The art exhibit will be free of charge.
Individual tickets are now on sale. 4-movie package costs $160 and 6-movie package, $240.
