The acre-sized winter wonderland resembling Disney-esque ice castles will not be returning this year to Edmonton due to COVID-19.
The American-based company, Ice Castles who partnered with the Silver Skate Festival to bring the festival to Edmonton since 2015 in Hawrelak Park announced that will setting up only four locations in the United States this year.
Ice Castles CEO Kyle Standifird said, “Although we have decided not to return this winter, we look forward to being back in Edmonton in the future.”
Edmonton was the company’s first Canadian location. Winnipeg was the second location during the 2018 winter but did not return after the first season.
