Edmonton’s well-known winter attraction, Ice Castles, is set to make its comeback after a five-year break, and tickets are now officially on sale.

The frozen installation, built entirely from icicles and water, returns under the direction of Utah-based artist Brent Christensen, whose team creates the towering tunnels, slides, caverns and archways the experience is known for.
The attraction was first introduced to the city in 2015 through a partnership with the Silver Skate Festival, making Edmonton Ice Castles’ first Canadian site. It ran annually until the COVID-19 pandemic forced a pause.
This year’s installation is scheduled to open on January 10 and run until February 16, 2026, at Fan Park in the Ice District, with operations entirely dependent on weather conditions.
Visitors can expect an acre of hand-placed icicles forming slides, crawl tunnels, caverns and icy archways, along with carved sculptures and seasonal drinks from the Frozen Tap.
Since 2011, Ice Castles installations across North America have drawn hundreds of thousands of guests, a concept Christensen first developed after building an ice cave for his children.
Tickets follow peak and off-peak pricing, ranging from $15 to $20 on quieter days and $18 to $24 during busier times. Hours vary by day, with opening times beginning at 4 p.m. on weekdays, extended evenings on weekends, and special hours on Family Day.
