1. Winter Carnival

Events include fun for all ages with horse drawn sleigh rides, Station #18 fire truck visit, children’s story time and giant board games, children’s games, activities, face painting, hockey skills competitions, a magic show, and so much more. 2. Red

Fairy Tales are timeless stories that hold no loyalties to any one place. They are tales of the world passed down through oral traditions and the written word. They teach us lessons, take us on journeys and provoke our imaginations to make the impossible come to life. Little Red Riding Hood is one such tale. Versions of the story about a girl and a wolf come from all areas of the world and the repertoire of stories continues to grow.

1. The Headstones

Canadian punk-rock band Headstones, formed in Kingston, Ontario in 1987, bring their show to the Burton Cummings Theatre.

2. Winnipeg New Music Festival

This year is a big milestone for the Winnipeg New Music Festival. This year we look both back and forward with three world premieres from our past composers-in-residence. You will see a snapshot of our society through extremes from the core of the symphonic tradition to unheard new sound worlds where time stands still. Through it all we will have conversation, art, food, music, and experiences that will challenge, stimulate and provoke. Join us!

3. Virtuosi Concerts

Celebrating its 70th anniversary, the legendary Fine Arts Quartet is one of the gold-plated names in chamber music.Matched with pianist Michael Kim, whose performances have been called “… incredibly exciting and exhilarating, and beautifully balanced” these five artists created a sensation on our stage in 2013 with the Schumann Piano Quintet.

4. Polish Music Exchange 4

A celebration of popular and contemporary music with an Eastern European twist. We want to promote the exchange of experience across cultures, music genres, and generations… but most importantly between one individual and another. See you there!!

5. Alex Cuba

The Park Theatre is proud to present Alex Cuba, making his return to Winnipeg on January 24th. On Alex’s last visit he absolutely blew the crowd away and we are tremendously excited to have him back. He will be joined by some very special guests.

Go on a theatrical and musical journey in Spin, Evalyn Parry’s tour-de-force performance celebrating the Bicycle as muse, musical instrument and agent of social change.

2. Bouffe

This high-energy, hilarious and interactive production from New Brunswick introduces us to Bazil and Mortadel, the endearing yet repulsive chefs who are preparing a feast for their audience. From one course to the next, they push the envelope to a place where ridiculous and disturbing meet. Bouffe is a culinary journey into the absurd where no one is safe. Eat or be eaten.

3. Billy Elliot The Musical

A heartwarming and inspiring story of a young boy who defies the odds, Billy Elliot The Musical has been dazzling audiences across the globe for nearly a decade. Despite the bitterness of the UK miners’ strike, Billy seems destined to follow his father and brother to the coal mines. But when he stumbles into a ballet class, his eyes are opened to a whole new world of opportunity. With unforgettable music by Elton John and sensational dance, Billy Elliot The Musical is a feel-good celebration that shows us what it means to fight for our dreams.

4. Rumor’s Comedy Club presents Donnell Rawlings

Donnell continues to tour heavily, performing his intelligently bold stand-up throughout the US, Europe, and the Caribbean. You’ve seen him as ‘Ashy Larry’ on Comedy Central’s award winning and critically celebrated Chappelle’s Show, where he joined Dave Chappelle as both as a writer and performer.

5. Scott Thompson

Well known to fans as a member of the famed sketch comedy troupe “The Kids in the Hall,” Scott Thompson is anything but your average comedic talent.

6. Misfit Blues

Love, Clowning and other Silly Antics. Although they’ve been around awhile, they view intimate relations as an equation with several unknowns, except that today there are no limitations to expressing their enthusiasms and their failings. They love each other, good or bad. They sound each other out, challenge each other, know how to manipulate one another. Thick as thieves, they also get bored, enjoy a good laugh, tread delicately between candour and cruelty. Under the ambiguous gaze of a coyote created by the Amerindian artist Edward Poitras, they present tender, perverse, hilarious characters – angelic tramps straight out of a Beckett play or burlesque cinema. Sublime misfits.
