Part of the larger Doors Open Ontario initiative, which runs from April to October, the 2024 event highlights “adaptive reuse” — showcasing sites that have been repurposed for modern use while retaining their historical essence.
Several sites in Niagara-on-the-Lake will be open for public viewing, including Clare’s Harley-Davidson of Niagara, which features architectural elements made from reclaimed materials. The Exchange Brewery, originally constructed in 1880 as a telephone exchange, will also welcome visitors. Other key locations include the Niagara Apothecary, Niagara District Court House, Grace United Church, and the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum, which will offer curator-led tours and special exhibits.

Other notable sites include the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, Voices of Freedom Park, and Willowbank, a National Historic Site that houses the School of Restoration Arts.
Doors Open Niagara-on-the-Lake is a chance to learn about the town’s rich heritage and explore its unique landmarks, all for free.
