Kingston’s chilling haunted attraction, Fort Fright, is making its spine-tingling return for the 2025 Halloween season at the historic Fort Henry.
This immersive scare attraction transforms the 18th-century garrison and National Historic Site into a nightmarish haunted house, making it one of the most chilling experiences in North America.
What to Expect This Year:
Fort Fright promises an unforgettable journey through narrow hallways, interior ditches, and tunnels, immersing visitors in a nightmarish realm of creatures and monsters. Over 50 movie-style animatronics, dynamic special effects, intense sound and lighting, and costumed scare actors create an atmosphere of pure terror.
Movie Nights:
For movie fans, Fort Fright Movie Nights adds a cinematic layer of terror. For $5 on top of general admission, audiences can watch outdoor horror films screened inside the fort’s walls.
Screenings begin October 1 with The Conjuring 2 (14A, 2h 14m), followed by Midsommar (18A, 2h 27m) on October 8, Sinister (14A, 1h 50m) on October 15, and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (14A, 1h 48m) on October 22. For movies alone, tickets are priced at $15 for general admission and $12 for military members with ID, plus HST. Doors open at 7:15 p.m., with films starting at 8:00 p.m.
Want the experience but not ready to be “scared”:
This is not an event for the faint-hearted. Fort Fright promises to deliver more scares and haunting scenes than ever, challenging visitors to confront their deepest fears. For those seeking extra protection, “Scare Shields” to ward off direct scares are available, allowing you to signal scare-actors to tone down their performance and maintain a safe distance.
Specially For Those Seeking the Ultimate Haunt – Dark Nights:
On these spine-chilling nights, set for Thursdays, all lights will be turned off, leaving visitors with just a single eerie flashlight to guide their way. It’s the ultimate October thrill, where every creak and whisper takes on a sinister meaning.
Keep in mind that Fort Fright is not recommended for children, and parental discretion is advised. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and tickets are non-refundable.
Fort Fright runs on select dates from October 3 to November 1, with varying opening and closing times. Plan for at least one hour of spine-chilling adventure, which includes exploring the Haunted House section and the Interactive Zone.
Historic Fort Henry is located at 1 Fort Henry Drive in Kingston, and onsite parking is available at no charge.
