Frosty Flip-Flop: Farmer’s Almanac Releases 2022 Winter Forecast

The Old Farmer’s Almanac has released the 2022 long-range winter weather forecast and is calling for winter with near-normal snowfall, average amount from coast to coast.

Dubbing the forecast – “Frosty Flip-Flop” – Farmer’s Almanac is anticipating a “yo-yo type of winter with notable polar coaster swings in temperatures.”

As per the forecast, the eastern provinces of Newfoundland, Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick will experience a seasonably cold winter with near-normal snowfall. January will bring “many days of rain, snow, and everything in-between”, while February will see less precipitation. March precipitation will be near seasonal.

Farmer’s Almanac says winter in the West Coast will start out “mild and wet but turns stormy and white” while parts of Quebec and Ontario will see a “winter whopper” by the end of February.
