Back for its tenth year, the excitement and fun of the Toronto International Film Festival pour out from the theatres onto Festival Street this weekend from September 4 to 7, 2025.

This year’s TIFF not only showcases a diverse range of films but also integrates community and international brands into the fabric of the festival, ensuring there is something for everyone on Festival Street.
Festival Street on King St. W. between Peter St. and University Ave. will be celebrating all things film. The free, family-friendly street festival will feature live performances, partner activations, and outdoor screenings.
The CN Tower will glow gold hourly after sunset throughout the Festival.
- Festival Street and Opening Events: TIFF’s 50th Festival begins September 4 with the unveiling of its star on Canada’s Walk of Fame outside TIFF Lightbox at 4 p.m. A public ceremony will be followed by a cake-cutting celebration to open Festival Street.
- Special Exhibits and Shops: A Canadian debut for Criterion’s Mobile Closet will allow visitors to browse 1,700 films and record personalized Closet videos. If missed, Criterion merchandise will be available at TIFF Shop. TIFF’s Pop-Up Shop will also return, offering collaborations with Roots, Dean Davidson jewellery, and other limited-edition TIFF 50 merchandise.
- Outdoor Screenings: David Pecaut Square will extend its programming with outdoor screenings from September 4 to 13, nightly at 10 p.m., rain or shine. Films include The Goonies, Uncle Buck, Sound of Metal, Marie Antoinette, Best in Show, Before Sunrise, High Fidelity, Lady Bird, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, and Moonstruck. All will include open captions.
- Music and Art Installations: New attractions include Billboard Canada and NXNE Music Zones with DJs, immersive art installations such as Corridoor By Maziart, and a live mural by Adrian Hayles celebrating 50 years of TIFF. Performers across the weekend include Brandan Duke, OTR, DJ Narvaz, DJ Nina Brown, MKLA, Shannyn Hill, and Cozmic Cat.
- Community and Cultural Showcases: The Festival Street Art Market on John Street will showcase 14 local arts organizations and community festivals. Participants include Inside Out, Reel Asian, imagineNATIVE, OCAD, Luminato, Regent Park Film Festival, Toronto Latin American Film Festival, and REEL CANADA, alongside newcomers Blank Canvases, College of Make Up & Design, and Hand Eye Society.
- Partner Activations and Public Screenings: A TTC free screening of a surprise Official Selection will be held September 13 at 3 p.m. at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. Additional partner activations run September 5–14, including Rogers Beyond the Seat, RBC Red Carpet Gallery, Visa Infinite Studio, Campari Red Carpet Lounge, House of Peroni, Intrepid Travel Box Office, Lavazza Festival Village, The Gold Room by Ferrero Rocher, Volkswagen ID. Buzz, LISTERINE, Nongshim, and Korean Cultural Centre Canada.
- Culinary Highlights and Installations: Culinary events include a sushi bar pop-up September 5 at King and John Streets, featuring Michelin chef Masaki Saito, subject of the world premiere documentary Still Single. Amazon MGM Studios will host an installation September 5–7 recreating an iconic John Candy moment, in connection with TIFF’s Opening Night Film John Candy: I Like Me.
- Fundraiser: The TIFF 50/50 fundraiser continues during the Festival, offering early bird draws and a jackpot beginning at $50,000. Last winter’s draw awarded more than $90,000 in prizes. Ticket sellers will be present on-site, with online options also available.
