IKEA Canada has announced the opening of a new Plan and Order Point in Barrie.

The new facility, situated at 33 Mapleview Drive West in the SmartCentres Barrie South shopping centre, will officially open on June 28, 2024. This new location will replace the existing IKEA Barrie planning studio at Georgian Mall.
The 5,274-square-foot space will provide Barrie residents with enhanced access to IKEA’s home furnishing solutions. Customers can receive personalized design assistance and plan complex home furnishing projects for kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and living rooms with the help of IKEA specialists. The new facility will feature a curated selection of IKEA products for customers to explore and get inspired by.
Plan and Order Points, like the new Barrie location, do not stock products for immediate purchase. Instead, they offer walk-in and appointment-based services where customers can work with experts to design and order custom home solutions. Once an order is placed, it can be delivered directly to the customer’s home or to the Barrie Pick-up location, which has recently reduced its flat-rate shipping fee to $19 from the previous $29.
This new Barrie location is part of IKEA Canada’s strategy to make its products and services more accessible. Including Barrie, there are now eight Plan and Order Points across Canada.
Recently, IKEA Canada announced a significant $80 million investment to lower prices on over a thousand products throughout 2024, responding to the rising cost-of-living crisis. Customers will benefit from these reduced prices on popular items like the BILLY Bookcase and EKET storage solutions.
