From November 25 to January 2, this event, sponsored by TD, will transform the heart of the city into a festive wonderland, blending traditional holiday cheer with contemporary art installations.

The event schedule is packed with performances starting from 5:00 pm, with the lighting of the Christmas tree and holiday lights taking place at 7:00 pm.

NorthFIRE Circus presents winter light performances, The Digs entertains with live music, and Rhythm Works adds rhythmic drumming to the mix. These acts will provide an eclectic mix of music, winter light shows, and dynamic drumming performances, scheduled throughout the evening.

Visitors can enjoy the city’s largest outdoor skating rink, complete with on-site skate rentals, adding to the winter fun.

A major highlight is the Holiday Street Market by Street Eats. This market brings together a variety of artisan and food vendors, offering an array of tasty treats and unique crafts, perfect for getting into the holiday spirit. For those looking to capture the festive spirit, there’s an opportunity to take photos with Santa and the elves at the Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan.

Moreover, the event features six captivating public art installations spread across Celebration Square and the Living Arts Centre (LAC).

The art installations are a must-see, with the world premiere of “Biolumen” by Radha Chaddah x RAW Design taking center stage. This piece consists of ten large luminescent structures that project colourful beams, creating an immersive experience with changing light and sound patterns. Inspired by deep-sea Radiolaria, “Biolumen” symbolizes resilience and beauty in harsh environments.

Additionally, five other public artworks by Canadian artists enhance the square’s ambiance. These include “Timber Techtonics” by John Nyugen et al. at LAC Park, “LED Farsh” by Roda Medhat, “The Dowsers” by Lauren Pirie, “Luxonus” by Alex Ricci & Adam Kaleta, and an installation inspired by a Rumi quote by Khaula S. Mazhar.
