List of Picnic Sites in Calgary Parks Where You Can Legally Consume Alcohol Starting June 1

The city of Calgary has announced the list of picnic sites where you can legally consume alcohol starting June 1.

The city council recently voted to allow public drinking in select sites at select parks from June 1 to September 7, between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. only with a maximum 2-hour limit.

Calgarians can now reserve picnic sites in three time blocks – Noon – 2 p.m,, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Calgary says picnic tables can be used on a first come, first served basis, but priority will be given to those who book a table with a permit.

Not all bookable picnic tables in City parks are designated for alcohol consumption and they will be clearly marked by signage.

As per the news release, alcohol cannot be carried around the park and public intoxication remains prohibited. You should also stop consuming liquor in a designated picnic area if requested by a Calgary Police officer or community peace officer due to intoxication.
