The University of Alberta Botanic Garden’s Luminaria is returning for 44 days this holiday season. This popular event ignites the festive season with thousands of candles along the paths of the Kurimoto Japanese Garden in a breathtaking display – a quiet oasis of peace and light.

Sip complimentary hot apple cider, wander candle-lit pathways, listen to acapella singers and light a candle for a loved one in Memory Lane.

There will also be indigenous-themed experiences, including a new sculpture by noted artist Jason Carter.

The U of A Botanic Garden is also bringing back the Northern Light Dining Experience this year.

If you want to make this winter special and treat yourself and your loved ones to something fancy, then the Northern Light Dining Experience at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden is a perfect event to attend.

The experience includes your own dining space where you can relax with your friends and family in incredibly cozy and beautiful places.

This year the dining area is going to be a “village” of glowing domes nestled in the snow.

The meal served is a delicious 3-course fondue, which includes sweet and savoury meals, and the menu was perfected in collaboration with award-winning Edmonton Chef Cindy Lazarenko and Sherry Honey, local tourism and hotel/venue professional.

After or before your meal, stroll through candle-lit pathways, ice sculptures, delightful “snow sprites” and experience the Aga Khan Garden in winter.

Doesn’t all of this sound perfect? Tickets are on sale now.
