The University of Alberta Botanic Garden’s Luminaria is returning for the whole month of December this Christmas. This popular event ignites the festive season with thousands of candles along the paths of the Kurimoto Japanese Garden in a breathtaking display – a quiet oasis of peace and light.

Buoyed by the success of Twilight Picnic Experience, the U of A Botanic Garden is taking the event to the next level by offering a dining experience during this Christmas lights event.

If you want to make this winter special and treat yourself and your loved ones to something fancy, then the Northern Light Dining Experience at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden is a perfect event to attend.

The experience includes your own dining space where you can relax with your friends and family in incredibly cozy and beautiful places. The dining places are located in the Ikoi no ba Annex, the Ozawa Pavilion and in the Temperate and Tropical Showhouses that are filled with beautiful green plants. The Ikoi na ba Annex and the Ozawa Pavilion overlook the gorgeous Kurimoto Japanese Garden.

These private dining spaces are available from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and the maximum size of each group is six people.

The meal served is a delicious 3 course fondue, this includes sweet and savory meals, such as mouth-watering cheese fondue, broth fondue and chocolate fondue served with bread, meat, fruits, vegetables and sweets. Coffee, water and hot chocolate will also be provided. Alcoholic drinks such as wine and beer can be purchased for you to enjoy with your meal.

After or before your meal, stroll through candle-lit pathways, ice sculptures, delightful “snow sprites” and experience the Aga Khan Garden in winter.

This unique experience under the stars will leave you in awe and wanting more.

Doesn’t all of this sound perfect? So, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and book your tickets online if you want to make this winter a truly memorable one.
