A short-term pop-up at Square One Shopping Centre is aiming to draw in Star Wars fans with a mix of merchandise and themed experiences.
From May 23 to June 21, the mall will host what’s being described as Canada’s only MINISO collaboration pop-up tied to Star Wars. The timing lines up with the upcoming release of The Mandalorian & Grogu.
Opening day on May 23 is expected to be the busiest. Visitors will be able to take photos with characters from the franchise and browse limited-edition items, including plush toys and blind boxes featuring familiar figures.
The temporary shop will be set up in Centre Court and is designed as more than a retail space. According to Rosie Dela Rosa, marketing manager at Square One, the idea is to create a shared experience around a major pop culture moment, with a focus on bringing fans together in one place.
The merchandise itself spans a range of categories, from collectible vinyl plush to smaller novelty items and everyday products inspired by the Star Wars universe.
The pop-up runs for just under a month, and once it wraps on June 21, it won’t be returning elsewhere in Canada as part of this rollout.
