Morden Corn & Apple Festival

Originating as a Centennial celebration in 1967, this festival has grown into one of Manitoba’s biggest street fiestas, drawing many for three days of pure revelry.

 

The festivities kick off on August 25th with the bustling morning atmosphere of the Farmer’s Market starting at 9:00 a.m.

The day unfolds with a medley of attractions, from the lively street vendors commencing at 10:00 a.m. to the enthralling bingo games that keep participants engaged until 9:00 p.m. For animal enthusiasts, the petting zoo welcomes visitors from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thrills abound at the Wonder Shows Midway, running the gamut of entertainment from noon to 11:00 p.m. Craft beer aficionados can savour cold brews at the Rendezvous Craft Beer Corner. As the sun sets, let the rhythmic beats of Vince Anderson & The Ace Band, Kendra Kay’s melodies, and the humor of “The Not Very Late Show” with Matt Falk captivate your senses. Short film presentations by local youth’s will be featured at the Corn & Apple Film Fest at 10 p.m.

August 26th is also packed with fun and brimming with diverse activities. The Farmer’s Market starts the day at 9:00 a.m., accompanied by interactive engagements such as messy art, Manitoba’s longest parade at 10:00 a.m., and an array of street vendors.

The Cottonwood Dance Stage resonates with the rhythms of Dale Maksymic & The 78 RPM’s, “Ukie Fusion,” and others. Artistry takes center stage with demonstrations, a petting zoo offers delights for families, and live music by Vince Anderson & The Ace Band creates an invigorating atmosphere. As the evening unfolds, live music by Northern Reflections, Econoline Crush and Sloan create an electrifying ambiance. Those aged 18+ can enjoy the Morden Bombers Social taking place at Access Event Centre on August 25th to 26th, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The grand finale arrives on August 27th with the Farmer’s Market, midway and street vendors present onsite. Sunday Programming Committee events offer thought-provoking moments with guest speakers, kids’ church, and worship leaders. Families can enjoy Fraser Reptiles, a petting zoo, among other delights. The Rendezvous Craft Beer Corner and bingo are also part of the day’s lineup. The Cottonwood Dance Stage resonates with captivating performances, including “Lulu & The Tomcat.” The grand finale of the celebration arrives with the “Sunday Mix,” a vibrant spectacle from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. that brings the weekend to a spectacular close.

 

Complimentary offerings of corn and apple juice will be available on all three days from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. There are plenty of crafts, street vendors, and food for all to sample and buy. Kids will have a great time enjoying the activities and petting zoo designed especially for them. It’s family fun at its very best!
