DON’YA Ukraine’s Kitchen
This new café and takeout location on Fort Road serve up fresh hot lunches daily and have a wide variety of frozen Ukrainian treats to take home and make for yourself, or a date. DON’YA was started by newcomers to Canada from Ukraine, with a staff of fellow new Canadians. So, all of those lunches and frozen foods are handmade and fresh each day. They currently offer a few takeout Valentine’s treats, too! Enjoy DON’YA’s Love-Themed Dinners or one of their fine desserts.

The Backyard Smokehouse
The Backyard Smokehouse brings its Ontario-based barbecue flavours to Alberta for the first time with their new Edmonton location. The restaurant, with locations now in Toronto, Mississagua, and Edmonton, features incredible dishes of barbecued meats, smoky flavours, and premium cuts. This is a restaurant which takes their love of smoking food and meats seriously which is sure to show through their array of dishes.

Candid Coffee Roasters
Plan your next casual coffee date or Valentine’s meet-up with Candid Coffee Roasters and their brand-new Highlands location. The café already has an outpost in east Edmonton with the new spot being further north and across from Borden Park! Along with the coffee date, you can enjoy a romantic stroll around one of Edmonton’s prettiest parks.

Kinjo Sushi
Calgary’s Kinjo Sushi are now open in South Edmonton Common with their brand-new location, and only Edmonton location. The building formerly housed Moxies which has since moved to another part of South Common. Find Kinjo Sushi in their new home for an affordable and delicious dining experience. All of the food and flavours are sure to be enhanced by the restaurant’s fresh and bright décor.

Toro Sushi Bar & Grill
Head a bit further south beyond South Edmonton Common to find another brand-new sushi restaurant to try with your Valentine. Toro Sushi Bar & Grill opened in one of the new Parsons Road strip malls about a month ago and have since received rave online reviews just as Kinjo have! Get out and show this new sushi restaurant some love for Valentine’s Day.

Uncle Omlet
Lucky for Edmonton, some of Canada’s smaller chain restaurants continue to expand from other regions and into Alberta! Uncle Omlet is no exception, as this Ontario breakfast spot now has a location in south Edmonton (in addition to a Calgary location). The restaurant describes itselfas an Indian-style Desi “eggetarian” eatery. With this and the restaurant’s name, Uncle Omlet promises to be a solid choice for any brunch date, including one on Valentine’s weekend.

MSSM
Edmonton’s Ice District recently saw the addition of a brand-new restaurant and dining experience with the winter opening of MSSM. The omakase dining experience is created with seasonal, local, and fresh ingredients. So, for both the MSSM lunch and dinner omakase menus, expect a rotating variety of dishes. While you celebrate Valentine’s in the Ice District, take time for ice skating, a stroll down the Neon Light Museum, or dessert at a nearby bakery.

Birch & Bear Pizza
Treat your Valentine to any one of Birch & Bear Pizza’s Edmonton locations, including their newest shop in Forest Heights.
