Head out into almost any neighbourhood in Edmonton this summer, and you’re sure to find numerous local dining opportunities.

For summer 2025 specifically, that includes a wide variety of new places to dine in Edmonton. Among the new places to have opened during the spring or early summer are pubs and breweries, ice cream shops (right on time for 30-degree days), and new patio spaces.
Plus, as with any summer in Edmonton, the local festivals and attractions also have plenty to offer for new food and drink, as well as other activities or live entertainment.
Juu. Ku
The new Juu. Ku restaurant in south Edmonton offers a menu of Asian fusion cuisine in a fine dining atmosphere. The new spot is the sister restaurant to the local XIX Nineteen Restaurant; and these “sisters” are so close that the restaurants share a parking lot. Reservations are recommended for a table at the new and notable Juu. Ku, a place for lunch, dinner, or drinks.

Nero
Edmonton’s new Nero restaurant is from the same minds and group who brought Bianco, and Rossi to the city- two successful Italian eateries. Nero celebrated their opening weekend late May inside the historic Molson Brewery Building. And as one of the newest additions to the brewery district, Nero does make for a casual stop for drinks with their extensive cocktail menu. Nero also serve up Italian-inspired lunch and dinner cuisine.

Relish Bar & Market
Dine in with the brand-new Relish Bar & Market in central Edmonton for a cozy, upscale, and adults-only atmosphere. This new hangout spot is in the Ritchie Market with a menu of small plates, easy-to-share snacks, and locally made drinks or sweets. Relish aims to use the freshest products possible in their dishes, so the menu will rotate according to availability. Any items on the menu are also available to go.

Juana Ines
Juana Ines is one of the newest restaurants to open up in Manchester Square. The local and family-owned restaurant are creating buzz over their menu of authentic Mexican cuisine. And as a family-run eatery, it only makes sense that Juana Ines use recipes passed down from family members and past generations. And while the food options at Juana Ines is one reason to make a visit, the airy atmosphere and patio create more reasons to try Juana Ines this summer.

Bar Trove
The much-anticipated wait for Bar Trove’s grand opening is now over. And now, the buzz is around Bar Trove’s gorgeous architecture and décor, intimate dining space, and exquisite menu. The restaurant and cocktail bar, founded by Lauren Kyle and Brittany Schulz, is now open for guests to enjoy and embrace the airy, Parisian vibe of Bar Trove.

Holy Shakes
Holy Shakes, an Ontario-born shake shack, have brought their sweet and cold treats to Edmonton right on time for summer. This now makes this the second Holy Shakes to open outside of Ontario with the other now open in Calgary. This eatery offers a whole lot more than milkshakes, while those are indeed impressive! On top of the shakes, Holy Shakes offers lunch and dinner items, additional desserts, a “mash-up” appetizer menu, more ice cream treats, and vegan or gluten-free options.

Kommune Snack Bar
As a self-described snack bar, Kommune offers space for grazing and socialization, casual drinks, and as they say, “the in-between” for other meals. And as a new Jasper Avenue eatery, Kommune Snack Bar is in the perfect location for a snack and drink between city exploration, downtown festivals, or a river valley adventure. The menu includes a variety of sweet and savoury snacks, alcoholic drinks, and mocktails.

Cloverdale Coffee
Head to the heart of Edmonton’s River Valley for the newest coffee shop to open in the city and enjoy all the surrounding local attractions or trails before or after the coffee and snacks.
Cloverdale Coffee provides a bright and inviting space for dining in, too, and a small seating area on the outdoor sidewalk. Along with coffee and other café drinks, Cloverdale also serves lunch and breakfast items, including their now-signature paninis.

Old Yale Brewing
If you’ve travelled to Beaumont recently, or live in the southeast Edmonton municipality, you’ll probably have noticed the new Old Yale Brewing. The restaurant, pub, and microbrewery recently opened in Beaumont with a multi-level dining area, a spot for yard games, and a rooftop patio. The brewery hails from BC with the original locations in Chilliwack and Abbotsford.

Campio Brewing Co. (new 2nd location)
The original Campio Brewing Co. sits next to downtown Edmonton’s Ice District and therefore, in the heart of the city. And now, those in south Edmonton have a faster way to access the locally made brews with a brand-new Campio Brewing Co. now open in Ritchie. Both Campio locations are open for of course drinks, but also with full food menus for brunch and dinner.

Miss Saigon (new 3rd location)
Anyone in east Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, or Sherwood Park, can easily take advantage of this brand-new Miss Saigon location. The Vietnamese noodle house has the first two locations in Windermere, and on Whyte Avenue, with this third gracing Sherwood Park with its March grand opening. While known for unbeatable noodle bowls, Miss Saigon also has a creative craft cocktail menu worthy of note.

Bestie
Hurry to Bestie ice cream shop as this is a seasonal pop-up and will only be around for the summer. Bestie ice cream is part of the Kind Ice Cream family and serves up their same fresh scoops of ice cream. The Bestie shop will be set up all summer in front of the Crestwood Community Hall.

Summer 2025 Dining Events in Edmonton
Zoobrew
There are two more Zoobrew events popping up this summer at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. And “what is a Zoobrew?” you may ask. These adult-only events include after-hours admission to the Valley Zoo, along with a small beer festival to enjoy while you discover the different animals (especially those nocturnal species!). Zoobrew features samples from an array of Alberta brewers, distillers, and cider-makers, as well as snacks from local restaurants.

Taste of Edmonton
Oftentimes, it feels like summer in Edmonton starts off with the opening of K-Days and Taste of Edmonton. Together, these two annual events provide a huge variety of snacking, tasting, and sipping options. Taste of Edmonton, the smaller of the two events, takes over Churchill Square for over a week with tasting tickets for purchase that are used to sample the different vendors. Each vendor will have a handful of small/sample-size dishes or drinks available for usually 3-5 tickets. The festival also features live entertainment, the Wholly Handmade Market, and reservable patio spaces.

K-Days
While Taste of Edmonton takes over downtown, K-Days is back at Northlands on the east side of Edmonton with a ton of food options once you’re past the admission gates. K-Days, Edmonton’s premier annual fair, features the midway, live concerts, kids’ activities, adult-only activities, educational fun, and all that fair food!

Edmonton Heritage Festival
Keep August long weekend free this summer to help Edmonton and the world’s biggest multicultural festival celebrate their 25th anniversary! The Edmonton Heritage Festival will take place at Borden Park for its special anniversary (usually held at Hawrelak Park which is closed for renovations) with many different ways to embrace and learn about different cultures, including food. Each culture or country usually has booths for food and drink sales, as well as gifts and souvenirs, live entertainment, or educational workshops and activities.

Riverboat Cruises
The buffet events on the Edmonton Riverboat Cruise will be available all summer long and until late September! This experience is one of the best ways to see downtown Edmonton as the Riverboat cruises around the skyline and the Tawatinâ Bridge. The Riverboat dinner buffets include about two hours on the water, and access to coffee/tea/water with alcoholic beverages available for an extra cost.
