The festival celebrates Ukraine’s colourful culture by offering visitors entertainment, great food, and endless enthusiasm.

This is the largest Ukrainian street festival in North America, so be sure to check it out for a unique experience. Try some authentic and delicious Ukrainian food at any of the food vendors, and stay to watch the outstanding performances on stage.

The celebration kicks off Friday afternoon and runs until Sunday evening, with performances and events spread across the Jane and Runnymede stages.

 

Here are the highlights:

  • Musical acts from Ukraine, the U.S., and across Canada will take the stage, including featured performers Masha Kondratenko, Kozak Siromaha, Rusalka, and Zolotyj Promin.
  • Cultural pavilions will showcase traditional Ukrainian craftsmanship like embroidery, pottery, and woodcarving, with interactive workshops for visitors.
  • Authentic Ukrainian cuisine will be front and center, with borscht, kebabs, and sweet pastries served up by local vendors. A refreshment garden will also be open for attendees.
  • Visitors can browse a craft and artisan market, offering handmade collectibles and Ukrainian artwork.
  • Children’s programming includes games, crafts, and cultural education, creating an inclusive space for families throughout the weekend.
  • Buskers and a sidewalk sale hosted by local BIA merchants will add to the festive street atmosphere.
  • One of the festival’s most anticipated moments, the annual Festival Parade, will take place on Saturday, September 13. Assembly begins at 10 a.m. in High Park and the parade starts at 11 a.m., moving along Bloor Street West and ending at St. Pius X School.

Entry to the parade and the festival is free of charge, offering an open invitation to all to experience and celebrate the richness of Ukrainian culture and community spirit in Toronto.

Friday| 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM

  • Opening night will kick off with the Great Lakes Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by dynamic sets from Desna, Daughters of Donbas, and Andrea Kuzmich. Audiences can expect comedy, traditional dance, and bands like Zryv and Mid Life Crisis. The evening will close with Vasyl Popadiuk, setting the stage for a weekend of Ukrainian culture and celebration.

Saturday | 9:30 AM – 11:00 PM

  • Parade: Saturday, September 13. Assembly begins at 10 a.m. The parade begins at 11 a.m. sharp.
  • Saturday will begin with the 29th annual Festival Parade, followed by a welcome ceremony and performances by Kozak Siromaha and Rusalka. Crowds will experience a full day of cultural showcases, choirs, dance groups, and live music. The evening will feature Mid Life Crisis Band and Vasyl Popadiuk, with Masha Kondratenko headlining the night’s festivities.

Sunday, September 14 | 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

  • Sunday will spotlight youth performers including Zolotyj Promin, Rusalka Jr., and VA Dance Studio. The day will feature fashion shows, community dance troupes like Barvinok, and music from bands such as Sloohai and Tysk. Tetyana Grynyk and ViolaSet will perform in the final hours, closing the festival with a celebration of young talent and cultural pride.

Bloor West Village, between Jane Street and Glendonwynne Road in Toronto

The Festival is situated between Jane St. and Glendonwynne Rd, so getting off at either Jane or Runnymede TTC stations is a convenient way of getting here.
There are several paid parking lots located steps from the Festival site. They are just north of Bloor St. West and can be accessed from Willard Ave., Beresford Ave., Kennedy Ave. and Glendonwynne Rd.
