Illuminated Canadian Pacific Kansas City Holiday Train will be chugging along across southern Ontario starting today.
This is the train’s first journey as Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) since Canadian Pacific merged with Kansas City Railway.
There will be two different decorated trains travelling through Ontario — the U.S. train travelling from Milton to Windsor and the Canadian train from the Ottawa area to Kenore (into Manitoba) — bringing holiday cheer to many communities along CPKC’s network.
Each event is free, with CPKC encouraging attendees to open their cupboards and wallets to help address hunger needs in their communities. Local food banks will be accepting donations at each stop to ensure those less fortunate have enough healthy food this holiday season.
The train tour will feature live shows. The Anyway Gang featuring Dave Monks (Tokyo Police Club), Sam Roberts (Sam Roberts Band), Menno Versteeg (Hollerado), and Chris Murphy (Sloan) will entertain from the Canadian Train.
The Canadian train began its Ontario leg yesterday. Today, the train will continue its journey beginning at Belleville.
The U.S. bound train completed the Southwestern Ontario leg last week.
