The Old Port of Montréal is set to be a bustling hub of activity this summer, hosting over 70 events and fun activities.

Several new events are planned for 2024 summer such as Jackalope, a sports festival attracting high-level skateboard and bouldering athletes now in its 12th year, and the Shérif festival, a country music event with a Wild West theme. Montréal’s Korean Week will offer cultural insights through food and activities from August 22 to 25.
This year’s programming also includes Show devant, a unique circus performance affiliated with Montréal Complètement Cirque, occurring on July 6. The gastronomy scene will be enriched by Les Eaux Douces, a new food hub at Jacques-Cartier pavilion starting June 1, offering a menu that emphasizes friendly and sustainable options.
The Montréal Science Centre is launching Banquet, an interactive exhibition focusing on the science of gastronomy from May 16. This exhibit invites visitors to engage all senses through various interactive zones. Another addition is the Techno Garden, opening on June 1, designed to showcase futuristic urban agriculture.
Adding to the cultural offerings, the Science Centre’s IMAX®TELUS theatre will feature “Australia: The Wild Continent 3D” from June 20, providing an immersive experience into Australia’s unique ecology.
Traditional events are also making a return, including the Clock Tower Beach which reopens on June 14 for summer lounging and viewing the International des Feux Loto-Québec fireworks. The Cirque du Soleil show, KURIOS – Cabinet of Curiosities, will run from May 23 to August 25 at Jacques Cartier Quay.
Several cultural festivals are scheduled throughout the summer months. These include the Holi – Festival of Colours on June 22, Taste of the Caribbean from June 11 to 14, and Le Grand Poutinefest from June 17 to 28, which will introduce a musical component and a new microbrew tasting zone this year. The Orientalys festival will return from August 8 to 11, celebrating Eastern cultures, followed closely by the Montreal Streetfood Fest from August 15 to 18, and Taco Fest Montréal from August 31 to September 2.
Additionally, the Old Port will celebrate Canada Day on July 1 with a range of family activities, including performances and a giant games zone. The river shuttle service will also resume from May 19 to October 27, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenic river route.
