Ottawa Boat Cruise, a long-standing tourism staple in the National Capital Region, is taking a major step towards greener operations.

Ottawa Boat Cruise
Ottawa Boat Cruise has created a new branch called EKEAU (“eco”) and plans to fully transition to eco-friendly tourism with the introduction of new electric passenger vessels over the next three years.
The journey towards sustainability began in 2016 when Ottawa Boat Cruise designed and produced the world’s largest electric passenger boat.
Building on this success, Ottawa Boat Cruise, which has a 42-year lease of the Rideau Canal with Parks Canada, launched a second electric passenger boat on the Canal today.
Furthermore, they announced plans to replace the classic Paula D ship which offers sightseeing cruises on the Ottawa River with a fully-electric 500-passenger catamaran by 2025.
In addition, Ottawa Boat Cruise plans to introduce a brand-new fully-electric amphibus, the world’s first of its kind, in the upcoming summer.
