These include integrating the Air Operations Support Technician (AOS Tech) trade into Regular Force employment and expanding the Non-Commissioned Member Subsidized Training and Education Plan (NCMSTEP) to encompass Aircraft Structures Technician (ACS Tech) programs.

Previously exclusive to reserve positions, the AOS Tech trade is now open as a full-time career option within the Regular Force. New Regular Force AOS Techs will begin their careers supporting aircraft maintenance programs, performing tasks such as aircraft startup and parking, fueling, towing, inspections, and assisting with scheduled maintenance and repairs.

After gaining experience, AOS Techs can advance in rank as servicing technicians or explore other career paths, including roles in Employment and Training, Aircraft Maintenance Control and Records, Quality Management, Project Management, and Occupation Management. These positions are available nationwide, wherever RCAF aircraft are stationed.

The RCAF has expanded NCMSTEP to include ACS Tech programs alongside existing options for Avionic Systems Technicians and Aviation Systems Technicians.

NCMSTEP covers college tuition and essential program costs like tools and personal protective equipment. Accepted students also receive an annual salary. Upon graduation, they will specialize in specific aircraft types within the RCAF.

Paid education opportunities under NCMSTEP are offered at 14 aviation colleges across the country.
