The Savannah Bananas’ Banana Ball World Tour will make Canadian stops in Toronto and Winnipeg in August 2027, with four games scheduled across three stadiums.
The tour will bring the Savannah Bananas themselves to Toronto, while Winnipeg will host the Party Animals and Texas Tailgaters.
What Is Banana Ball?
Created by Savannah Bananas owner Jesse Cole, Banana Ball is a faster-paced version of baseball that combines competitive play with live entertainment.
Players perform choreographed dances, attempt unusual plays and interact with spectators throughout the game. Music and comedy are part of the experience rather than separate halftime entertainment.
The sport also has 11 special rules that distinguish it from traditional baseball.
Games operate under a two-hour time limit, with each inning generally worth one point to the team scoring the most runs. Batters cannot bunt, traditional walks are replaced by a sprint around the bases, and players can attempt to steal first base.
Perhaps the most unusual rule involves spectators. If a fan cleanly catches a foul ball, the batter is out.
The format is designed to keep games moving while making the crowd part of the action.
