​Stouffville Ribfest This Weekend Features Animatronic Dinosaurs, and Jully Black Concert

You don’t have to pay to show kids giant dinosaurs as the town of Whitchurch-Stouffville is bringing animatronic creatures to the annual ribfest.

​Stouffville Ribfest kicks off today at Stouffville Memorial Park and will feature four ribbers – Sticky Fingers BBQ & Company, Fat Boya Barbecue, Mississippi Smokehouse, Uncle Sam’s BBQ – serving saucy ribs. You can also get chicken, and pulled pork from these ribbers.

In addition to ribs, plenty of other food options such as poutine souvlaki, slushies, ice cream, roasted corn, old-fashioned sodas, funnel cakes, mini donuts and more from vendors like Nun Better Souvlaki, Coffee Brake, Pimento Jerk, The Poutine Shack, Mobile ICEE, Mister Treats, Ontario Corn Roasters, Pappy’s Soda, Fabulicious Funnel Cakes, Zambri’s Pizzeria, Mix Machine and Tiny Tom Donuts will also be available.

 

The festival also includes a licensed beverage area featuring Falcon Brewing Company, Rouge River Brewing Company, The Second Wedge Brewing Co. and Cottage Springs Beverage Co.

It is not just food at the festival, there will be a large kids area with a giant midway (ticketed) by Astro Amusements complete with carnival games, and animatronic dinosaurs providing an “interactive” middle Triassic to the late Cretaceous Era experience.

Kids can look forward to meeting Krypto and Ace from the new movie DC League of Super-Pets.

A spectacular stage line-up will provide an exciting atmosphere. Canada’s Queen of R&B, Juno and Gemini Award recipient & Canada’s Walk of Fame inductee, Jully Black will entertain the crowds on Friday at 8:30 p.m.

Other bands and musicians include Evan Farrell on Friday, The Motown Boys, The British Invasion, and Leah Daniels on Saturday, and Fiddlestix, Evan Farrell and Stouffville Youth Talent Show Winners on Sunday.

Stouffville Ribfest at Stouffville Memorial Park is free to attend and runs from August 5th to August 7th. The hours are 12 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 12 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Those who attend the festival on Friday can use a $3 off discount coupon on a half rack rib dinner valid on August 5th, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
