The streets of Danforth are about to come alive with the Taste of the Danforth, Canada’s grandest street festival.

Taste of the Danforth
From August 11-13, visit Toronto’s Greek Town for a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural mosaic that decorates the Danforth. The event promises a unique culinary voyage with an assortment of delightful dishes, from street foods to intricate dessert marvels.
The Taste of the Danforth is more than just a gastronomic journey. It encapsulates the very essence of the varied cultures that define Danforth businesses. Visitors will get to journey around the world without ever leaving Danforth, with a plethora of family-friendly events and entertainment on offer.
Food lovers will be spoilt for choice with a roster of vendors, including Akropolis Pastries & Pies, bbq Chicken, Bespoke Butchers, Dolce Gelato, El Venezolano, and Katsu Japanese Restaurant, among many others.
For entertainment, the Celebrity Stage at Logan and Danforth Avenues will feature artists such as Olga Elma, Dijlah, and Ventanas. Meanwhile, the Greek Stage at Jones Ave will host the talents of Maria Zervou, Eva, and Sakis Ramis.
The Kids Zone near Pape Ave promises engagement for the younger attendees. A highlight is the Little City-Builders Mural, a 32-foot community art piece themed around GreekTown, transit planning, and community cooperation. Led by local artist Monica Wickeler, festival goers, especially children, can contribute to this mural, which will later adorn the new Pape Station construction site.
Other attractions for kids include interactive pop-ups by Myseum of Toronto, mural tours by East End Arts, and lively performances by Sing Along Tim & The Pacifiers.
If you are planning to visit, remember that Danforth Avenue, between Broadview and Jones Avenues, will be closed from 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, till 3:00 a.m., Monday, August 14. Detours are in place for TTC routes, and alternative roadways are advised due to anticipated traffic delays.
